Chris has over 10 years’ experience in commercial property, working with institutional landlords, large corporate occupiers, and agencies both in Australia and in the UK. Chris’s specialty is the management of large diverse portfolios and he has extensive experience in preparing portfolio strategies, executing transactions across retail sites, commercial offices, and critical environments and in the management of cross border transactions.
Chris has spent the last 6 years as National Manager of Real Estate Services on the National Australia Bank (NAB) Account. Chris has worked with NAB during this time to transform their retail and commercial property portfolios and in doing so has gained valuable insight into the challenges faced by large corporate occupiers. This knowledge directly translates to more successful outcomes both financially and also in terms of the quality of his client’s ongoing occupancy. The NAB portfolio consists of approximately 1,500 leased sites over 600,000sqm with upwards of 300 lease transactions negotiated by him and his team each year. Most recently Chris has provided strategic advice to NAB in major office transactions in Sydney (70,000sqm), Melbourne (65,000sqm), Brisbane (10,000sqm), and Perth (10,000sqm) and in securing flagship retail tenancies in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. He has also worked with colleagues in C&W’s Hong Kong, Mumbai, and New York offices in response to NAB requirements for their international offices.
Outside of his work with NAB he has been the lead SME in the development team for C&W’s portfolio and transaction management software platform, has worked with the business development department to define the structure and composition of new account teams and has been the Australian representative for the C&W Global Community of Practice for Transaction Management and the Lead for the C&W Australian Retail Community of Practice for Transaction Management.
